The median sales price of a 1 bedroom Galt Ocean Mile condo is however much higher (nearly $100,000 more) than the median of $270,000 than is the median for Caribe at $172,750.

My perspective on Caribe condo units

Caribe is a MId-Century icon here on Galt Ocean Mile.   The units in this complex offer great views – in fact all units have direct ocean views!

Caribe also has a great location right across from El Mar Drive and walking distance to the Pier and many cafes and restuarants!

If you’re looking for a direct oceanfront condo here in Ft Lauderdale then visiting units for sale in Caribe is well worth the time!

Mid Century Caribe
Fort Lauderdale Condos

Built in 1961 Caribe Fort Lauderdale has 150 condos and rises 15 stories. One and two bedroom condos are offered for sale and these range in size from 660 Square Feet to 880 Square Feet!

There are 120 x one bedroom units and 30 x two bedroom units – the one bedroom units are stacks 2-9 and the two bedroom units are stacks 1 and 10 (the end units of the building)

The building is truly “Mid Century Modern” in its design and it features strong clean horizontal lines.

At the time of construction designers were very influenced by Miami Modern architecture and many buildings, condos and home in Lauderdale by the Sea including Caribe reflect this iconic style.

As part of this design element the complex has open exterior balconies instead of internal hallways.  Coop rules allow residents to set some furniture outside and on the exterior balconies / walkways

The exterior balconies of Caribe overlook the swimming pool and the beach / ocean and the way that the units are designed means these views can be enjoyed from indoors as well.

Concentre construction helps elminate an “inter-unit” noise and building covenants require sound absorbent flooring.

A really nice feature is that the coop also owns the land!

Being at the end of Galt Ocean Mile and just 2 blocks away from Lauderdale by the Sea’s renovated downtown and beach/pier entrance way make Caribe’s location really unique.

Beside the beautiful beaches, fantastic views and great Lauderdale by the Sea location residents enjoy Caribe’s amenities which include 24 hour security, an exercise room, a oceanfront heated outdoor swimming pool and a great picnic / bbq area!

Caribe Inc of Broward County has undergone some recent rennovations too – which really make a nice difference.

The complex also offers extra storage in a range of sizes, and extra car park space can be rented as well.
